AKP's "New Geographic Imagination" and Turkey's Foreign Policies
Pinar Bilgin, Associate Professor of International Relations, Department of International Relations, Bilkent University, Ankara, Turkey; Visiting Senior Research Fellow, King's College, London, U.K.
Pinar Bilgin holds a Ph.D. in International Politics (2000) and an M.Sc, in Strategic Studies (1996) from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth. She previously studied at the Middle East Technical University (B.Sc. 1993) and Bilkent University (M.A. 1995). She specializes in critical approaches to Security Studies. She is the author of Regional Security in the Middle East: a Critical Perspective (Routledge, 2005). Her articles have appeared in Political Geography, European Journal of Political Research, Review of International Studies, Third World Quarterly, International Relations, Security Dialogue,and Foreign Policy Analysis, among others. She is an Associate Member of the Turkish Academy of Sciences and an Associate Editor of International Political Sociology. She is currently Visiting Senior Research Fellow at King's College London, and on sabbatical leave from Bilkent University where she is an Associate Professor of International Relations.
