Arlinda Ymeraj (Keçi) is Professor of Economics at the European University of Tirana.
From 1992-1997 Ymeraj worked for the Albanian government as Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, as an MP, and in various senior positions of public administration. She contributed to the establishment of the social protection programme and the development of social policy in Albania. Ymeraj also served for 15 years with UNICEF (1999-2014), dealing with reform and law enforcement in the field of children's rights.
Her career has a strong academic foundation. She received a Bachelor of Economics degree from the University of Tirana, followed by a Master of International Public Policy from Johns Hopkins University, School of Advanced International Studies as well as a Master in Business and Administration from the University of Tirana, culminating with a Doctor of Science in Economics and Associated Professorship at the University of Tirana.
Ymeraj has a very broad knowledge of the Albanian legal framework, as well as those of most Eastern European countries. She lectures on public and social policy at the graduate level, presenting conference papers and publishing in this field both in Albania and abroad.
